Flexible Packaging Engineer ensures that packaging materials are designed and developed to meet the unique needs of products and industries. They are responsible for working with clients, managing projects, and ensuring that flexible packaging solutions are cost-effective, high quality, and compliant with industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Packaging Design and Development:
- Collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams to design and develop flexible packaging solutions that meet specific product and industry requirements.
- To create innovative packaging designs utilizing various materials, including films, foils, laminates, and coatings.
- Material Selection:
- Identify and select appropriate packaging materials based on product characteristics, shelf life, and transportation requirements.
- Evaluate the suitability of different materials and combinations to achieve the desired performance and cost objectives.
- Quality Assurance:
- Develop and implement quality control processes to ensure flexible packaging materials and products meet industry standards and client specifications.
- Conduct testing and validation of packaging materials.
- Cost Analysis and Optimization:
- Manage project budgets and resources effectively to minimize production costs.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvements.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about industry regulations and standards related to flexible packaging materials.
- Ensure that packaging materials and solutions comply with relevant regulations.
- Project Management:
- Plan and manage projects related to flexible packaging development.
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality requirements.
- Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of packaging specifications, testing results, and project reports.
- Keep records of design changes and improvements.
- Customer Collaboration:
- Work closely with clients to understand their packaging needs and provide technical expertise and solutions.
- Address client concerns and provide recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications:
- US Citizens and Green Card Permanent Residents ONLY!
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in flexible packaging design and development, at least 3-5 years,ideally out of food packaging
- Expert knowledge of packaging materials, printing technologies, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in materials testing and quality control processes.
- Project management skills and familiarity with project management tools.
- Familiar with regulatory requirements and safety standards for packaging materials.
Location: Marion, Ohio
Candidates are preferred to be local to delaware, OH area; there is not a relocation package available at this time.
