Expectations for the Vice President of Sales

  • Build a sales team that targets large customers around the world. 
  • Hire, mentor, and coach key salespeople and managers.
  • Monitor and report on sales and market segment activity.
  • Work with engineering to ensure the new product pipeline supports long-term growth.
  • This board-level role is responsible for strategic insight and contribution throughout the organization.

Qualifications for the Vice President of Sales position

  • Strong desire to grow a business and develop fellow sales staff.
  • Technical aptitude – our products are sold to engineers and scientists.  We sell to a technical audience. 
  • Working in a wide variety of industries and markets is essential.
  • In-depth knowledge of sales strategies and techniques, particularly in developing large OEM accounts.
  • High intellectual curiosity, informing your insight of the significant customer buying process. Accounts with greater than $100K in annual purchases.
