The Supply Chain Manager Aerospace is accountable for ensuring the timely shipment of finished goods, managing inventory levels, and storing raw materials. They also oversee the acquisition of raw materials to ensure timely availability. The Supply Chain Manager coordinates the activities of personnel involved in purchasing and distributing raw materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies.

Supply Chain Manager Aerospace Responsibilities

Supplier Management:
- Selecting quality suppliers, negotiating favorable contracts, and building strong relationships are essential for ensuring a reliable supply chain.
Inventory Management:
- It is essential to regularly monitor inventory levels to maintain a balance between demand and supply and prevent stockouts or overstocking. Additionally, implementing inventory optimization strategies can help minimize carrying costs while ensuring that products are readily available.
Logistics and Distribution:
- Manage transportation and distribution for efficiency and faster delivery. Choose carriers based on cost, urgency, and relevant factors.
Demand Forecasting:
- Work with the sales and marketing teams to collect data and insights for precise demand forecasting. Utilize forecasting models and tools to anticipate future demand and adjust the supply chain plans.
Process Improvement:
- Find ways to improve processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency in the supply chain. Implement ongoing improvement efforts to make workflows more efficient and improve overall performance.
Risk Management:
- Preparing for possible supply chain disruptions caused by natural disasters, geopolitical issues, or supplier failures is essential. It is advisable to create backup plans to ensure business operations can continue in unexpected circumstances.
Analytics & Technology:
- Utilize data analytics and supply chain software to gather valuable insights and make well-informed decisions. Additionally, consider exploring and implementing new technologies to improve supply chain visibility and automation.
Team Leadership:
- As a leader of a team of supply chain professionals, it is essential to provide guidance, training, and support to ensure a successful operation. Creating a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team is also crucial for achieving optimal results.
Compliance and Ethics:

Qualifications:
- Aerospace Materials Manager experience is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (master’s degree is a plus, but not required).
- Proven experience in supply chain management, with progressively increasing responsibilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in supply chain software and tools.
- Leadership and team management experience.
- Knowledge of Aerospace industry trends and best practices.

- Salary range: $130,000.00 to $140,000.00.
